Abstract

Recent events in Libya have turned the spotlight on an aspect of international investment law that has, so far, attracted little attention. Investments, almost by definition, require stability and cannot thrive in situations of violence and political volatility. Libya is host to a number of important foreign investments, notably in the energy sector.
