Abstract
This study discusses the applicability of the World Trade Organization ('WTO') legal framework for the resolution of energy transit disputes. It has become an important topic due to the broadening scope of the WTO membership. For example, Russia has recently acceded to the WTO. One of the implications of this accession is that Russia may invoke Article V of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade which establishes a regime of free transit in international trade of goods and at the same time is bound by it.
