Abstract

The UNCITRAL Model Law on International Commercial Arbitration saw light of day twenty nine years ago. Many countries have adopted it. There is no indication yet that Qatar will adopt the Model Law. As developing nations are fast catching up with the developed world, Qatar is at a stage of issuing a new Arbitration law. While some countries' arbitration laws may be lacking in some of the details, foreign investors think the essential structure they look for might in fact be there.
