Introduction

In this Article Part I will give a brief geopolitical introduction in order to set the context of, and the climate in which, the events regarding the San Juan Boundary Dispute occurred. Part II will lay out the background that led to the unresolved boundary in Puget Sound and the countries' attempts to fix it. Part III will recount the pig affair and resulting military escalation. Part IV will turn to the arbitration of the San Juan Boundary Dispute. Finally, Part V will discuss the impact of the arbitration in isolation and on the broader geopolitical scale.
