Introduction

In recent years, Zambia has experienced a steady increase in the number and complexity of matters referred to arbitration both in Zambia and abroad. Zambia domesticated the UNCITRAL Model Law through the enactment of the Arbitration Act, No. 19 of 2000 (the "Arbitration Act"), which also domesticated the New York Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards.
