The Iran-United States Claims Tribunal came into existence pursuant to the agreements between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America. The Agreements are usually referred to as the Algiers Declarations. The Government of the Democratic and Popular Republic of Algeria served as intermediary to find out an acceptable solution.
