Introduction

This book by Dr Christa Roodt explores the intersections between private international law ("PIL"), and art and cultural heritage. A lecturer in Art Law and Business at Glasgow University, Roodt is a member of the British Art Network and UK Private International Law Group, and has published widely on the subject of art law, arbitration, PIL, and cultural heritage preservation. As a work that requires a certain level of mental acuteness to understand, not least because of the intricacy of the legal framework that underlies it; this text is not for the dilettante.
