Abstract

Since the proposition of the Belt and Road initiative in 2013, China has been exporting a large amount of capital to Belt and Road participating countries, with a goal to promote deeper regional cooperation, which benefits goods, capital and labour markets. This paper uses the Difference-in-Differences estimation model to measure the effect of the Belt and Road initiative on the employment rates of Belt and Road participating countries.
