I attended, with several OGEMID colleagues, an excellent organised seminar at Simmons and Simmons in London. The subject was the question if Pakistan should negotiate a new BIT based on the new BIT model with the US. The seminar was one of the few professional seminars which produced a real and quite intensive debate - perhaps because there was a real question: What advice would you give to the Pakistani government (represented by its High Commissioner) - underlying the 1/2 day debate. The seminar topic is of much larger relevance as with the backlash against BITs ...
