Abstract

The article presents the role and importance of maritime arbitration, at both, permanent and ad hoc courts. It shows the changes that have taken place over the years and the characteristics of this judiciary in Poland. The tasks and structure of the International Court of Arbitration (ICA) at the Polish Chamber of Maritime Commerce in Gdynia will be discussed.
