Abstract

The human right to water is established not only by Resolution 64/292 of the UN General Assembly sanctioned in 2010, but also by other norms of positive international law and by customary law. The Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (CESCR) has also considered that compliance with the human right to water is essential for the fulfilment of other human rights guaranteed in international treaties.
