Introduction
The changing role of experts in the Courts as a result of the Civil Procedure Rules in England and Wales which came into effect in 1999 has stimulated those in arbitration to consider the best use of experts in arbitration. Alongside those influences are strong influences from the Continent and from the mediation world (particularly since an increasing number of arbitrators have also qualified as mediators), resulting in a much more open approach, and indeed discussion, on the question of the most effective procedures for the use of experts in international arbitration. ...
