Introduction
During the month of January 2005 the subject of including a "joinder" requirement in dispute
resolution clauses was extensively discussed on OGEMID, highlighting a lack of consensus on a
matter that remains controversial and little practiced. The purpose of this brief review is to
draw together the different strands from that discussion and to summarise the current practice
and thinking in international arbitration on this difficult subject.
