Introduction

As I was reflecting this morning on what I would say to you, it occurred to me that it is actually somewhat artificial to divide this topic as we have done today - throughout the whole of today - and perhaps even more so the sub-topics including the "fork in the road" on which we are called upon to speak. I say that because it seems to me inevitable, much as one seeks to avoid it, that one will have to touch upon the topics that will be covered by others in discussing ones own topic, and for that I apologise both to those of you who will hear the same thing more than once and ...
