Introduction

The Venezuelan legal system establishes that arbitration can be an alternative means of dispute resolution. It is provided for in many Venezuelan regulations such as the Code for Civil Procedure, the Law for Commercial Arbitration, the Law for Insurance and Reinsurance Companies, the Law for the Consumer's and the User's Protection, the Organic Labor Law, the Organic Law for Peaceful Justice, among others, and primarily in the Venezuelan Constitution, which states the following:
