Introduction

Last week's [week 43, 2006] California Court of Appeals decision in Gueyffier v. Ann Summers Ltd. is a reminder of the uncertain fate of arbitration awards in California. The arbitration involved a British corporation and a French citizen, was sited in California and was conducted under the auspices of the International Centre for Dispute Resolution of the American Arbitration Association.
