Introduction
This draft (10 April 2020) procedural order may serve as the basis for discussion at a pre-hearing conference, or among counsel in preparation for such a conference, where it has been decided to convene a virtual hearing using Zoom, or the possibility of such a hearing is being considered. The order contemplates a case administered by the ICDR (which offers Zoom to its users at no additional cost), but may be adapted to account for the specific features of other virtual platforms and for matters administered by other institutions or ad hoc proceedings. The order further contemplates a “default” scenario in which all participants join from individual locations and no technical support person (or “Virtual Tribunal Secretary”) is involved, but the order may be tailored to suit the circumstances of an individual case and party preferences.
