Abstract
This paper explores the role of the Organization for Petroleum-exporting Countries (OPEC) as a party to international investment agreements, generally understood to be concluded between sovereign countries.
The paper analyses OFID's BITs with developing countries, revealing unique features compared to traditional BITs between sovereign countries. Further, the paper connects the conclusion of BITs with OFID's aid programmes.
