Introduction

The book Investment Arbitration and International Climate Change Law: Revaluing Legitimate Expectations (Thomas Lehmann (Wolters Kluwer, April 2025). ISBN-13 9789403527994)  is based on the Ph.D. dissertation of Thomas Lehmann, at the School of International Arbitration, Queen Mary University of London.

Lehmann describes his study as the first comprehensive assessment of the effect of international climate change law on the legitimate expectations of foreign investors in the energy sector. Lehmann expresses his hope that the work may assist practitioners, arbitrators, government officials, and treaty drafters facing net zero disputes. This reviewer believes it will do just that.

This paper will be part of the fourth TDM Special Issue on "International Investment Arbitration - Environmental Protection and Climate Change Issues". More information here www.transnational-dispute-management.com/news.asp?key=1893
