Summary

The issue on this appeal is whether Mr Mikhail Fridman has been validly served with a claim form at Athlone House in Hampstead, despite the fact that in March 2022 he was sanctioned under the Russia (Sanctions) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019, since when he has been an "excluded person" within section 8B of the Immigration Act 1971 and consequently is not entitled to enter the United Kingdom. Bryan J held that he had been validly served. His judgment is at [2025] EWHC 300 (Comm). On 3 June 2025 Males LJ gave Mr Fridman limited permission to appeal.
