Petitioner Iraq Telecom Limited ("Iraq Telecom") initiated this action pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 1782 to obtain discovery for use in a foreign proceeding. The underlying billion- dollar international litigation spans more than a decade, multiple countries, and numerous parties. While important to briefly contextualize the instant dispute, the merits of the underlying litigation are not at issue--indeed, the merits of the matter have been adjudicated abroad and the arbitration award has been confirmed by this Court.1 The only open item on the docket for the instant case is Iraq Telecom's motion for an award of fees and costs and for reconsideration of the Court's November 12, 2021 Order.
