2021 FDI Moot Globals won by Symbiosis Law School, Pune

On the 3rd of November 2021, Symbiosis Law School, Pune won the 2021 Skadden Trophy, prevailing in a close match over the University of Miami, School of Law before a panel of Yas Banifatemi, Hi-Taek Shin, and Mitchel Dorbyk (presiding by party agreement) in the final of the 2021 FDI Moot Globals.
A separate panel of assessors (Vishakha Choudhary, Todd Weiler, Anthony Daimsis, and Michal Stanek) adjudged Yesenia Alfonso (University of Miami) to have been the best advocate of the final.
National University of Singapore took third place ahead of Kabarak University Law School in a match heard by Christopher Tahbaz, Chan Leng Sun SC, and Meagan Vestby (presiding by party agreement).
Pramela Menghrajani of Ateneo de Manila University was recognized as the best advocate of the group phase (Thomas Wälde Advocacy Award). A further 20 advocates (10 doing two group phase rounds, and 10 doing all four group phase rounds) were honorable mentions out of 255 total counsel doing pleadings (out of 447 student team members – and many in the preceding regionals).
University of Malaya, Faculty of Law was the highest ranked team on the basis of combined scores for its written submissions and group phase pleadings. It also submitted the best memorial for Claimant. The best memorial for respondent was submitted by Symbiosis Law School Pune. The top 3 claimant and respondent memorials will be published in Transnational Dispute Management.
