TDM - OGEMID Archive - Introducing new service for our TDM subscribers
25 August 2005
OGEMID (oil gas energy mining infrastructure and investment disputes) is an internet-based intelligence service and discussion group for posting news and comment and engaging in debate. Moderated by our Editor-in-Chief, Professor Thomas W. Wälde - the formal owner with responsibility for the service - it is co-sponsored by CEPMLP/Dundee (www.cepmlp.org) and TDM (www.transnational-dispute-management.com) in collaboration with OGEL (www.ogel.org).
OGEMID was set up originally as a discussion group for subject-specialised doctoral students and colleagues of Thomas Waelde, mainly at CEPMLP/Dundee but also his wider international network of friends, colleagues, professional and academic contacts & clients (former, present and prospective).
It has now developed from about 25 members to well over 700. OGEMID has become the equivalent of an international, selective and exclusive virtual club. It benefits from the active participation of always informed, frequently very articulate and sometimes brilliant active discussants - both acting under their own name and sometimes under the flag of (controlled, but discreet) anonymity. Requests for admissions are received on a daily basis as it is seen as one of the most effective (if not the most effective) way of keeping abreast of recent developments in the specialised field it covers. In addition, according to all accounts, it facilitates an often enjoyable, entertaining, sometimes amusing, but also outrage-provoking, but always informative forum for professionally relevant and (sometimes) intellectual discussion.
OGEMID brings together most of the world's experienced professionals plus some of the less pompous academics in the field of international dispute management, mainly arbitration, mediation, negotiation, with a particular emphasis on investment disputes. OGEMID members are now the most up-to-date informed professionals in these fields.
We offer institutional TDM subscribers the benefit of a related membership on OGEMID. Each subscribing company or organisation to TDM, is permitted to sign up 3 of its employees as participants in OGEMID, renewable annually if the subscription is renewed.
Following suggestions from the OGEMID membership - initiated by Michael Schneider of Lalive in Geneva - we are now offering a new and additional service which is intended to offer substantial added value.
As of today [18 August 2005] is also possible for TDM subscribers to browse and search the postings in our OGEMID archive. To access the archive you will need to login first. Once logged in you will find a navigation button in the menu which will take you to OGEMID section. The service is now operating, though we are striving to enhance it in terms of search efficiency and scope of content.
You can search the archive by keyword, or you can browse the archive by month, with the postings sorted by date/subject and thread.
