A team at the Brunel Centre for the Study of Arbitration and Cross-Border Investment (Tony Cole [Principal Investigator], Ilias Bantekas, Federico Ferretti, Christine Riefa) have been commissioned by the European Parliament to undertake and present to the Parliament a study on arbitration across the European Union and Switzerland. This study will address arbitration in all its primary forms (commercial, consumer, online, investment), and will address both the formal regulatory structure in which arbitration operates in every Member State of the EU and Switzerland, and the realities of arbitral practice in those States. It will also address measures taken at the EU level regarding arbitration (including investment arbitration), and discuss potential future measures.
