Alfredo earned his Ph.D. Summa cum laude in Transnational Law and Arbitration from the Sorbonne University, holds two Master's Degrees in Private, Commercial and Economic Law from the University of Paris I and the University of Paris II, and graduated with honours from the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello in Caracas.
He is currently a Lecturer in International Arbitration at the University of Versailles. In 2103, he will be teaching Transnational Petroleum Law and Lex Petrolea as a Guest Lecturer at the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy - CEPMLP - of the University of Dundee and at the University of Houston Law Center.
Alfredo is actively involved in several think tanks around the world working on Transnational Law, Arbitration and Lex Mercatoria. He is a Director of the Transnational Petroleum Law Institute, an Associate Member of ICC Institute of World Business Law, the Representative for Latin America of the LCIA Young International Arbitration Group, a Member of the ICC Latin American Arbitration Group and a Member of the Board of Reporters of the Institute for Transnational Arbitration. He is also a Member of the Groupe de Beaune.
He publishes extensively and works in Spanish, English, French and Portuguese.
