Dr. Sergey Ripinsky is a consultant on international economic law and policy, working with clients from the public and private sector.
Sergey previously was legal affairs officer at the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in Geneva. There he focused on legal and policy aspects of international investment agreements and investor-State dispute settlement. He authored a wide range of UNCTAD publications, advised governments and delivered technical assistance and training to state officials and diplomats.
Prior to joining UNCTAD, Sergey was a research fellow at the British Institute of International and Comparative Law in London. He authored a book on Damages in International Investment Law and a number of articles on investment- and trade-related topics.
Sergey holds a Ph.D. from St. Petersburg State University (Russia) and an LL.M. in International and European Law from Maastricht University (The Netherlands).
