Dr. Sergey Ripinsky

Dr. Sergey Ripinsky is senior lawyer at the UK Department for International Trade, where he advises on the UK's international investment policy and the country's trade and investment negotiations.
Previously Sergey was legal affairs officer at the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in Geneva. He contributed to a wide range of UNCTAD publications, advised governments and delivered technical assistance and training to state officials and diplomats.
Prior to joining UNCTAD, Sergey was a research fellow at the British Institute of International and Comparative Law in London.
He authored a book on Damages in International Investment Law and a number of articles on investment- and trade-related topics.
Sergey holds a Ph.D. from St. Petersburg State University (Russia) and an LL.M. in International and European Law from Maastricht University (The Netherlands).
