Courtney Kirkman-Gücük is a counsel at Çakmak Avukatlik Ortakligi in Ankara, Turkey. She is a U.S.-qualified lawyer who focuses on international arbitration matters, particularly in the construction and energy sectors. She has been involved in arbitrations under many of the major arbitral institutional rules, as well as under the Rules of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law for ad hoc proceedings. She has worked on disputes governed by common law and by civil law. Courtney also has experience with litigation, including securities and corporate governance litigation, and international corporate internal investigations, particularly in relation to the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. She received her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 2003 and she is admitted to the New York Bar. She is fluent in French.
