Natalia Charalampidou is teaching International Environmental and Energy Law at the Faculty of Law of the Democritus University of Thrace in Greece. She is also assisting the editors of Transnational Dispute Management and Periballon & Dikaio.

Prior to focusing on teaching and academic research, she had joined high-profile law firms representing parties in transboundary complex litigation including US-style discovery and common law injunctions, public listings as well as investment arbitration.

Her areas of expertise include the Energy Charter Treaty, international investment arbitration, contaminated site investigation and remediation, environmental liability, solid and hazardous waste, prospection, research and exploitation of hydrocarbons, renewables and nuclear energy and EU sanctions. She has over ten years of experience in the Energy and Environmental Law of Cyprus and the Energy Charter Treaty. She has assisted the supervision of almost thirty master theses and has published over fifty academic papers, including five monographs. The latest monograph analyses the sanctions regime set by the EU.
